Principal Architect

Architectural Integrity LLC is owned and operated by Sean McGovern who is a licensed Architect in the State of New Jersey. Additionally, Sean is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). This enables Sean to obtain an out of state license if you have any project needs that may extend outside the state of New Jersey. Sean also holds a certification from the American Concrete Institute (ACI Certification).

With over 25 years of professional experience, Sean has been working in the field of architecture since graduating New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1992. His experience is varied in residential, commercial, mixed use and flex-industrial design. His professional experience includes projects throughout all of New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.

He is a resident of Manahawkin, NJ and has had a family home on Long Beach Island for his entire life. Long Beach Island has always been a part of Sean's life and the Island architecture itself is what inspired him in his career path to become an architect. Sean is proud to be a part of the rebuild effort in the area after Hurricane Sandy and has helped many with plans for lifting their homes or with plans for their new homes.

When our home was destroyed by Superstorm Sandy we decided to rebuild and lucky for us we were introduced to Sean McGovern at Architectural Integrity. Sean was newly established, innovative, and ambitious. He listened to what we considered our perfect home, presented us with a plan and continually improved it until it fit our wants and needs perfectly. Sean designed an extremely functional home in less than 2,000 square feet. He found a way to utilize every inch of space without it feeling overcrowded or cramped. We now have a large open floor plan including all necessities on one floor (for empty nesters) while incorporating the upper floor for guests, a second living area and a rooftop deck. Sean brought our ideas to life while creating the home that we only imagined in our minds. Sean was not only the architect who drew our plans but walked us through the process and continued to help until the day we received our certificate of occupancy. Nothing was ever too much or too difficult. He is stellar in what he does and I can't imagine meeting anyone who would be easier to work with than Sean McGovern.

We challenged Sean to design/LIFT our duplex into a “new single family home” that would have excellent curb appeal from the water as well as the street. The combinations of all of our “necessities” were further complicated by the zoning and engineering challenges that were presented due to the project being a LIFT. Clearly our project was much more difficult than just designing a new home. However, Sean has the unique talent, skill, ability and vision to take our wants and needs and create a design that we loved. After speaking with several area Architects, Sean McGovern was recommended to us by a Realtor friend. Upon our initial meeting we immediately realized that Sean offered a fresh, creative approach to design and project implementation. We had a small and challenging lot in a flood V zone and Sean was able to embrace our vision and design a home that met all the strict township requirements while capturing what we wanted in terms of space, layout and quality materials while adding unique architectural details to round out the overall design. We met Sean McGovern of Architectural Integrity when we began our plans to build our home after Superstorm Sandy. We were one of the first homes to be built in our neighborhood post Sandy. Our first meeting with Sean was to learn about what our expectations and desires were for our new home. He listened, asked questions and heard everything we wanted. Since we did not live in the area, he worked with us via email and phone for the various iterations of the plans, which expedited completion. His plans were very creative and addressed all of our wants and needs. During the construction phase, Sean continued to work with the builder and visited the site to be sure that the plans were being followed. We are very proud and extremely happy with our new shore house. We love it and believe that t is one of the most attractive houses on our street.

Sean is truly an expert in design and renovation. One of the biggest challenges he faced with our project, was trying to transition our existing home, with a large addition of almost equal size, while at the same time raising the entire structure. Our primary goal was to make the addition appear as if it was built with the original house. We wanted dimension, balance, and a nice flow from the existing house to the new space. Sean accomplished all of this. His designs were imaginative and functionally creative. He was easy to work with; very responsive, and extremely professional. We love our new home and know that it’s made an impact in our community as we often see people driving by and taking pictures. It was a pleasure working with Sean.
